Visa is partnering with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to enhance global access to digital government and payment systems.
Through a five-year collaboration, the organizations will support governments in developing and implementing platforms that link citizens to local government services. This initiative aims to foster economic growth by leveraging their combined expertise in digital government, digital payments, and assistance for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
The partnership will primarily target regions in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Caucasus. Chris Newkirk, Visa’s global head of commercial and money movement solutions, stated, “By aligning our objectives, Visa and USAID will empower communities through digital and financial literacy while enhancing access to digital systems that promote financial inclusion for all.”
