BlackRock Partners with Fintech Scotland

The world’s largest asset manager, BlackRock, has announced that it has joined Fintech Scotland, the organization dedicated to promoting the fintech sector in the country.

This move is part of BlackRock’s strategy to enhance its footprint in Scotland, particularly focusing on expanding its recruitment efforts. In a recent statement, the company expressed that the collaboration will prioritize “innovation and tackling complex challenges through data and technology, aimed at promoting financial wellbeing for a broader audience.”

Fintech Scotland currently comprises over 235 fintech SMEs and 35 established financial institutions.

Scott Walker, managing director and co-head of BlackRock’s Edinburgh office, shared his enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are thrilled to connect with FinTech Scotland and its vibrant fintech ecosystem. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with industry peers to explore essential themes that will shape the future of financial services and benefit our clients.”

Walker emphasized BlackRock’s established history in Edinburgh, highlighting that this partnership reflects their continued commitment to the local market and strengthens their connections within the burgeoning fintech sector.
